[Scottish Parliament, 25.10.2024] Responding the NHS Highland’s confirmation that they have now begun planning for the closure of Moss Park Care Home, Highlands and Islands MSP Jamie Halcro Johnston said:
“NHS Highland’s announcement over preparations for the closure of Moss Park Care Home is incredibly disappointing and will be extremely worrying for the residents and their families, and for the wider community.
“Moss Park provides vital care to some of our most vulnerable members. It’s deeply frustrating that - despite universal recognition by stakeholders of its importance, and of the severe impact its closure could have - NHS Highland, the Highland Council and the Scottish Government haven’t been able to work together to secure a solution to keep it open.
“I am still to receive a response from the Scottish Government on how they are supporting what are claimed to be ongoing efforts to keep Moss Park open and will be seeking to raise this again in Parliament next week”.
