The Quoyloo-based Orkney Brewery has won cross-party praise in the Scottish Parliament after receiving an award from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The family-run business is believed to be the only brewery in Scotland to have received the accolade of a Golden Award.
Highlands and Islands MSP Jamie Halcro Johnston, who submitted a motion to the parliament highlighting the award, said:
“Orkney has a tremendously strong food and drink sector and it is always encouraging to see that reputation being underlined by recognition of this kind.
“I was delighted to be able to visit the brewery a few years ago, and know the huge effort they put in during the Covid pandemic getting beers out to people’s homes and keeping folk’s spirits up.
“Well done to Norman Sinclair and his team for all their hard work and commitment which has led to this very significant distinction.”
