Ahead of the impending ministerial reshuffle, Highlands and Islands MSP Jamie Halcro Johnston has urged the new First Minister, Humza Yousaf, and any incoming Transport Minister should Jenny Gilruth be reshuffled, to recommit to the dualling of the A9.
Mr Halcro Johnston said: "The dualling of the A9 is crucial for the safety and connectivity of the Highlands and Islands.
“We have waited far too long for this promised infrastructure upgrade, and it is already unacceptable that the completion date has been pushed back.
“Those communities across the Highlands and Islands which rely on the road deserve far better, and we cannot afford any further delays or excuses.
"The new First Minister - and any new Transport Minister - must recommit to making dualling the A9 a priority and take decisive action to get this project completed”.
