Jamie Halcro Johnston MSP has expressed his frustration at multiple interruptions during today’s First Minister's Questions.
The Highlands and Islands MSP had intended to question new First Minister Humza Yousaf about Scotland's growing ferry network crisis, but there was no time left at the end of the session due to the repeated disruptions from protestors.
Commenting after the session, Mr Halcro Johnston said: "I am extremely disappointed that I wasn’t able to question the new First Minister about the growing crisis in our ferries network and the impact on those communities that rely on them.
“CalMac is struggling to provide a reliable service, leaving thousands of my constituents in the dark on when and whether they can travel, and many businesses struggling with their logistics.
“And with the situation only getting worse, as CalMac struggle with the ageing ferry fleet, SNP ministers have left some people seriously considering whether living, working or visiting our islands is really worth it.
“That is a disgrace, and I wanted to ask Humza Yousaf, the First Minister, what immediate action he would take to deal with the impact of the negligence of Humza Yousaf the former Transport Minister.
“The Scottish Government in Edinburgh must act to ensure that communities across the Highlands and Islands can have some hope that the deterioration of our ferries network, and the worsening of already unreliable services, will end."
