Commenting on the Corran Ferry not being mentioned in any of the main text of the Highland Council's Capital Programme, Highlands and Islands MSP Jamie Halcro Johnston said:
"It will be incredibly frustrating for residents and businesses who rely on the Corran Ferry to see so clearly the Highland Council's lack of any real urgency or plan over this vital link.
"Even after a summer of severe disruptions, and with both boats currently out of action, it appears Highland Council are placing all its hopes on attracting UK Government Levelling Up funding.
"I fully understand that council budgets are tight - although SNP councillors only have their SNP colleagues in Edinburgh to thank for that. But everyone, and most particularly local residents and businesses, are well aware of the pressing need for action regarding the Corran Ferry.
"It's time Highland Council demonstrated the same level of urgency and commitment to this issue, got round the table with Scottish Government ministers, and worked out how a reliable and sustainable service across the Corran Narrows can be delivered".
